Nicola Harris is Director of Communications for Animal Save Movement and Plant Based Treaty, and serves on the advisory board of Project Phoenix. She is also a founder of Dorset Animal Action.

Currently, Nicola is writing her memoir detailing over 20 years of animal rights activism, a journey that saw her become a victim of state repression for her campaigning with Stop Huntingdon Animal Cruelty UK. She received a 15-month prison sentence in 2010 under controversial legislation targeting freedom of expression and is a named victim in the UK judge-led Undercover Policing Inquiry in the miscarriage of justice category.

In 2006, Nicola co-led an 18-month grassroots and political advocacy campaign that pressured the British Government to end painful deep-sea diving experiments on goats held in hyperbaric chambers. The campaign victory resulted in the permanent closure of the QinetiQ laboratory in Gosport and the rescue of a dozen goat survivors to sanctuary.

Nicola studied Psychology and Computing at Bournemouth University, where she developed expertise in applying human memory and information processing principles to effective communication, copywriting, and user interface design.
